L'artiste SIMONE HAACK (né en 1978) a grandi à Gyhum, un vieux village de 400 âmes situé entre Brême et Hambourg. Le paysage nord-allemand de son enfance à Teufelsmoor a façonné sa mémoire visuelle. Elle a étudié à l'université des arts de Brême auprès de Katharina Grosse et de Karin Kneffel, dont elle est l'élève principal. Après un cours d'un an à l'Unitec School of Design d'Auckland, en Nouvelle-Zélande, elle a étudié à l'École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris dans l'atelier du peintre néerlandais Pat Andrea. Elle a récemment reçu le prix Willi Oltmanns pour la peinture. Simone Haack vit et travaille à Berlin. Ses œuvres figurent dans de grands musées et dans des collections publiques et privées du monde entier.
